SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
read(s) as follows:

Article - Education

6-102.

(a)  Subject to the rules and regulations of the State
Board, the State Superintendent may make an agreement with
the appropriate educational authority of any other state to
provide for reciprocity in the certification of teachers.

(b)  Subject to the rules and regulations of the State
Board, the State Superintendent may accept the
accreditation, for certification purposes, of a program for
teacher preparation if:

(1)  The accreditation is granted by a recognized
national accrediting agency; and

(2)  The institution preparing the teachers is in
another state.

6-102.1.

(A)  THE STATE BOARD MAY ESTABLISH AN ANNUAL A FEE, NOT
TO EXCEED $10, FOR ISSUANCE OR RENEWAL OF A TEACHER
CERTIFICATE.

(B)  THE STATE BOARD MAY NOT REQUIRE A FEE FOR :
EVALUATION OF CREDENTIALS FOR THE CERTIFICATION OF TEACHERS.

(1) FOR THE ADDITION OF ANY NEW AREA OF
CERTIFICATION TO A CURRENTLY VALID CERTIFICATE; OR

(2) EXCEPT FOR THE FEE AUTHORIZED UNDER
SUBSECTION (A) OF THIS SECTION, FOR THE EVALUATION OF
CREDENTIALS FOR THE CERTIFICATION OF TEACHERS.
