SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1982 January 1, 1983.

AN ACT concerning

Washington County - Orphans' Court Judges -
Salaries

FOR the purpose of altering the compensation of judges of
the Orphans' Court of Washington County; repealing a
provision of law granting an expense allowance; and
providing that this Act does not affect incumbents.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
read(s) as follows:

Article - Estates and Trusts

2-108.

(V) [Each] AS COMPENSATION EACH of the judges of the
court for Washington County shall receive [$20] $35 for
every day's attendance upon the sessions of the court, not
to exceed [$2,400] $4,200 in one year. [In addition, each
judge also shall receive an expense allowance, including an
allowance for travel expenses, up to $50 per month as the
Board of County Commissioners shall deem reasonable and
proper.]

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
may not be construed to extend or apply to the salary of the
Orphans' Court of Washington County in office on the
effective date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act
concerning the salary of the Orphans' Court of Washington
County shall take effect at the beginning of the next
following term of office.
