AN ACT concerning

Washington County - County Commissioners

FOR the purpose of altering the compensation of the members
of the Board of County Commissioners of Washington
County; providing that this Act does not affect
incumbents; and clarifying language.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Section 8-2

Article 22 - Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1970 Edition and 1979 Supplement, as amended)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland read(s) as follows:

Article 22 - Washington County

8-2.

Each County Commissioner of Washington County [elected
in November 1978, or thereafter,} shall receive for his
services an annual salary of [$11,000] $12,000, payable in
monthly installments, and the Commissioner elected President
of the Board shall receive an additional $500 per annum. A
Commissioner shall receive no other compensation whatsoever
for his services.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
may not be construed to extend or apply to the salary of the
Washington County County Commissioners in office on the
effective date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act
concerning the salary of the Washington County County
Commissioners shall take effect at the beginning of the next
following term of office.
