AN ACT concerning

St. Mary's County - Scavenger Licenses

FOR the purpose of providing that the Health Department in
St. Mary's County issue scavenger licenses instead of
the Office of Permits and Inspections.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

The Public Local Laws of St. Mary's County
Section 258-2 and 258-3

Article 19 - Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1979 Edition, supplemented to December, 1980,
as amended)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as
follows:

Article 19 - St. Mary's County

258-2.

A county scavenger license for the performance of this
service must be acquired from the [Office of Permits and
Inspections] HEALTH DEPARTMENT at a per-truck fee of
twenty-five dollars ($25.) each. The scavenger license
number must be displayed on both sides of each truck.

The county scavenger license will be issued only to
those trucks which have been inspected and approved by the
Health Department [and after a notice of approval by the
Health Department has been received by the Office of Permits
and Inspection]. The Health Department shall annually
notify all scavenger license holders to schedule inspections
of their trucks.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1981.
