HARRY HUGHES, Governor                                 857

provisions of this Act concerning the salaries of the
Treasurer, State's Attorney, and Sheriff of Dorchester
County shall take effect at the beginning of the next
following term of office.

SECTION 2 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1981.

(House Bill 1332)

AN ACT concerning

Queen Anne's - County Administrator

FOR the purpose of changing the title of the Administrative
Assistant of the County Commissioners of Queen Anne's
County to County Administrator.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

The Public Local Laws of Queen Anne's County
Section 5-18 through 5-20

Article 18 - Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1974 Edition, as amended)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as
follows:

Article 18 - Queen Anne's County

5-18.

The County Commissioners may appoint [an Administrative
Assistant] A COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR, who shall serve at the
pleasure of the Commissioners, assume the responsibilities
and duties delegated to him by the Commissioners, and
receive the compensation set by the Commissioners.

5-19.

Before entering upon the duties of his office, the
[Administrative Assistant] COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR shall take
and subscribe the oath set forth in Article I, Section 6 of
the Constitution of Maryland before the County Commissioner
designated as President, and the oath shall be recorded in
the minutes of the proceedings of the County Commissioners.
