SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 25 - County Commissioners

51.

(1) The county treasurer of Dorchester County shall
receive an annual salary of [$15,000] $20,000.

Article 10 - Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact

40.

(j) In Dorchester County, (1) the State's Attorney's
salary is [$17,500] $25,000.

Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings

(k) (1) The Sheriff of Dorchester County shall receive
a salary of [$17,500] $20,000, and be allowed the actual
cost of the maintenance of automobiles and the county jail.
He shall appoint a chief deputy sheriff, one assistant
deputy sheriff, other deputies, and a jail matron if
approved by County Commissioners. A deputy or matron shall
receive the compensation provided in the county budget.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
may not be construed to extend or apply to the salary of the
Treasurer, State's Attorney, or Sheriff of Dorchester County
in office on the effective date of this Act, but the
