LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch.8

license applicant is required to take an
examination given or approved by the Board, then
the applicant must pass that examination before
the applicant may be licensed. As to the power
of the Board to give examinations, see § 2-304 of
this subtitle.

The part of present Art. 43, § 793(a)(2) that
relates to the educational requirements for a
license to practice speech pathology now appears
in Title 19 of this article. See the General
Revisor's Note to this title.

2-303. APPLICATIONS FOR LICENSES.

TO APPLY FOR A LICENSE, AN APPLICANT SHALL:

(1)  SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE BOARD ON THE
FORM THAT THE BOARD REQUIRES; AND

(2)  PAY TO THE BOARD THE APPLICATION FEE SET BY
THE BOARD.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Item (1) of this section is standard
language added to this and, where necessary,
corresponding sections of other titles of this
article. It states expressly a provision that
presently is only implied in the law: i.e., that
applications may be made only on the form
required by the Board.

Item (2) of this section is new language derived
without substantive change from the first clause
of Art. 43, § 793(a), as that clause applies to
fees for a license as an audiologist.

As to the authority of the Board to set fees, see
§ 2-206 of this title.

2-304. EXAMINATIONS.

(A)  RIGHT TO EXAMINATION.

AN APPLICANT WHO OTHERWISE QUALIFIES FOR A LICENSE IS
ENTITLED TO BE EXAMINED AS PROVIDED IN THIS SECTION.

(B)  TIME AND PLACE OF EXAMINATION.

THE BOARD SHALL GIVE EXAMINATIONS TO APPLICANTS AT
LEAST ONCE A YEAR, AT THE TIMES AND PLACES THAT THE BOARD
DETERMINES.

(C)  TYPES OF EXAMINATIONS.

(1) FOR THE EXAMINATION OF APPLICANTS, THE BOARD
MAY ADOPT APPROPRIATE EXAMINATIONS GIVEN BY A PROFESSIONAL
BODY IN THE FIELD OF AUDIOLOGY.
