HARRY HUGHES, Governor

63

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language derived
without substantive change from Art. 43, §
791(2). It is restated to avoid needless
repetition of phrases such as "license to
practice audiology".

The present term "temporary license" is deleted
to avoid confusion between the general "license"
and the present "temporary license", now the
"limited license" issued under § 2-310 of this

title.

The present phrase "renewal of license" is
deleted as superfluous in light of this
subsection.

(E)  LICENSED AUDIOLOGIST.

"LICENSED AUDIOLOGIST" MEANS, UNLESS THE CONTEXT
REQUIRES OTHERWISE, AN AUDIOLOGIST WHO IS LICENSED BY THE
BOARD TO PRACTICE AUDIOLOGY.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language added
to avoid needless repetition of phrases such as
"individual licensed to practice audiology".

On occasion, the term "licensee" is used in this
title as a synonym for "licensed audiologist".
Since "license" is defined in subsection (d) of
this section, "licensee" need not be defined
separately.

(F)  LIMITED LICENSE.

"LIMITED LICENSE" MEANS A LICENSE ISSUED BY THE BOARD
AS LIMITED BY § 2-310 OF THIS TITLE TO PRACTICE AUDIOLOGY.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language added
to avoid needless repetition of phrases such as
"limited license to practice audiology".

For the provisions concerning a limited license,
see § 2-310 of this title.

(G)  PRACTICE AUDIOLOGY.

"PRACTICE AUDIOLOGY" MEANS TO APPLY THE PRINCIPLES,
METHODS, AND PROCEDURES OF MEASUREMENT, PREDICTION,
EVALUATION, TESTING, COUNSELING, CONSULTATION, AND
INSTRUCTION THAT RELATE TO THE DEVELOPMENT AND DISORDERS OF
HEARING AND RELATED LANGUAGE AND SPEECH DISORDERS, TO MODIFY
THE DISORDERS OR ASSIST INDIVIDUALS IN HEARING.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection presently appears as
Art. 43, § 791(6).
