LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch.8

IN THIS TITLE THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE MEANINGS
INDICATED.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language derived
without substantive change from the introductory
paragraph of Art. 43, § 791. It is restated as
the standard introductory language to a
definition section.

The present phrase "unless the context otherwise
requires" is deleted as unnecessary.

See also § 1-101 of this article for other
applicable definitions.

(B)  AUDIOLOGIST.

"AUDIOLOGIST" MEANS AN INDIVIDUAL WHO PRACTICES
AUDIOLOGY.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language added
to provide an express definition of
"audiologist"; it is stated in the standard form
used to define the various health practitioners
regulated under this article.

The provisions of the present definition of
"audiologist" in Art. 43, § 791(4), which are
substantive provisions, now appear in § 2-402 of
this title.

(C)  BOARD.

"BOARD" MEANS THE STATE BOARD OF EXAMINERS FOR
AUDIOLOGISTS.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection presently appears as
Art. 43, § 791(1), as that item applies to
audiologists.

The word "State" is added to the name of the
Board to achieve uniformity among the names of
the health occupation boards that this article
governs.

The only other changes are in style.

The part of present Art. 43, § 791(1) that
relates to "the Board of Examiners for Speech
Pathologists" now appears in Title 19 of this
article. See the General Revisor's Note to this
title.

(D)  LICENSE.

"LICENSE" MEANS, UNLESS THE CONTEXT REQUIRES OTHERWISE,
A LICENSE ISSUED BY THE BOARD TO PRACTICE AUDIOLOGY.
