LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch.8

The second clause of present Art. 43, § 128(d),
which provides for the reinstatement of expired
licenses, now appears as § 14-315 of this
subtitle.

14-315. REINSTATEMENT OF EXPIRED LICENSES.

THE BOARD SHALL REINSTATE THE LICENSE OF A PHYSICIAN
WHO HAS FAILED TO RENEW THE LICENSE FOR ANY REASON IF THE
PHYSICIAN:

(1)  MEETS THE RENEWAL REQUIREMENTS OF § 14-314
OF THIS SUBTITLE;

(2)  PAYS TO THE BOARD A REINSTATEMENT FEE OF
$10; AND

(3)  SUBMITS TO THE BOARD SATISFACTORY EVIDENCE
OF COMPLIANCE WITH THE QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
ESTABLISHED UNDER THIS TITLE FOR LICENSE REINSTATEMENTS.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is derived in part from
the second clause of Art. 43, § 128(d).

The reference to license renewal is substituted
for the present reference to license suspension
to clarify the distinction between nonrenewal of
a license under § 14-314 of this subtitle and
suspension of a license under § 14-504 of this
title. For a further discussion of the licensing
and renewal process, see the General Revisor's
Note to this article.

Item (1) of this section is new language added
for clarity. It states expressly what presently
is only implied in the law — that, for the Board
to reinstate an expired license, the licensee
must meet the requirements for renewing that
license.

Item (3) of this section is new language added to
clarify the power of the Board to establish other
qualifications and requirements under § 14-305(f)
of this subtitle.

14-316. SAME -- LIMITED LICENSE FOR POSTGRADUATE TEACHING.

(A) ISSUANCE OF LIMITED LICENSE.

IF AN APPLICANT IS QUALIFIED AS A POSTGRADUATE TEACHER,
THE BOARD MAY:

(1) WAIVE THE EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS OF THIS
SUBTITLE FOR THE APPLICANT; AND

(2) ISSUE TO THE APPLICANT A LIMITED LICENSE TO
PRACTICE MEDICINE FOR POSTGRADUATE TEACHING.
