Chapter 16

AN ACT to amend Chapter 6A, title "Beverage Containers"
of the Montgomery County Code 1972, as amended, by repealing
and - re-enacting with amendments, Sections 6A-3, title
"Refund value required"; 6A-4(a) and (b), title "Acceptance
for refund"; 6A-5, title "Non-reusable beverage container
markings"; and 6A-9, title "Additional information"; to
provide that certain provisions of the beverage container
law, Chapter 6A, shall become effective October 1, 1980; and
to require certain reporting by the County Executive by May
1, 1980.

Effective Date February 22, 1980.

Chapter 17

AN EMERGENCY ACT to amend subsection 33-20(g), title
"Transfer from one group to another" of Section 33-20, title
"Membership Requirements and Membership Groups" of Subtitle
II, "Eligibility and Qualifications" of Article III, title
"Employees Retirement System" of Chapter 33, title
"Personnel" of the Montgomery County Code, 1972, as amended,
to permit Group D members to transfer to Group E on or
before June 30, 1980.

Effective Date November 23, 1979.

Chapter 18

AN EMERGENCY ACT to amend Chapter 29 of the Montgomery
County Code, 1972, as amended, title "Landlord-Tenant
Relations" by repealing and reenacting with amendments
Section 29-30C, title "Tenants' Rights", to require that
landlords provide tenants with a sixty (60) day written
notice of rent increases, and to require that no more than
one rent increase be given per annum. Alternatively, a
landlord may enter into a lease with an escalator clause
disclosing the yearly rental fee.

Effective Date November 28, 1979.
