Bill No. 11

AN ACT repealing and re-enacting with amendments
Section 1.402 "Payment of retired volunteer firemen" of
Title 1 "Administration" of the Howard County Code to
provide for certification of active membership; to provide
for additional payments for service beyond the twenty-five
year minimum; and to provide for certain administrative
changes.

Approved March 4, 1980.

Bill No. 12

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments section
15.700 of the Howard County Code, Title 15, "Natural
Resources", Subtitle 7, "Environmental Affairs Board," for
the purpose of altering the method by which the County
Council may refer environmental matters to the Environmental
Affairs Board for the Board's advice and recommendations.

Approved March 4, 1980.

Bill No. 18

AN ACT repealing and re-enacting Section 3.108
"Standards for Buildings and Construction" of Title 3
"Buildings" of the Howard County Code and enacting new
section 3.109 "Local Amendments to the BOCA Code" to provide
for adoption of the latest edition of the BOCA Code as the
County's building code and providing for the adoption of
local amendments to the BOCA Code.

Approved April 8, 1980.

AN ACT repealing Section 1.102(kk) "Work Week", Section
1.107 "Probationary Period or Trial Period", Section 1.118
"Hours of Work" and Section 1.119 "Overtime and Compensatory
Time" of Title I "Administration" of the Howard County Code
and re-enacting Sections 1.107, 1.118 and 1.119 to eliminate
duplication; make provisions for probation, probationary
periods of varying length, extension of the probationary
period and probationary class titles; to indicate the hours
of business of county departments and offices and the length
