Bill No. 120-80

AN ORDINANCE to amend the Charter of Anne Arundel
County, Maryland by adding new sub-section (c), "Alternate
Mode of Nomination", to Article II, "The County Council",
Section 201, "Composition", to provide for the nomination of
councilmen by the voters of the councilmanic district in
which the councilmen reside when the Maryland Constitution
shall be amended to permit this form of election; to submit
said amendment to the qualified voters of Anne Arundel
County, Maryland for its adoption or rejection; and matters
related generally thereto.

Effective Date August 4, 1980.

Bill No. 121-80

AN ORDINANCE to repeal and reenact, with amendments,
Section 1 of Bill No. 81-67, as last amended by Bill No.
43-80, legalizing Supplement No. 37, 2-80, to the Anne
Arundel County Code (1967 Edition), as prepared and
published by the Municipal Code Corporation, Tallahassee,
Florida, and making it evidence of the law of Anne Arundel
County, Maryland.

Bill No. 128-80

AN ORDINANCE to add new sub-sections (e) and (f) to
Section 11-410A, "Charges for use", of the Anne Arundel
County Code (1967 Edition and Supplements), Title 11,
"Health and Welfare", Subtitle 4, "Sanitary Landfills"; to
establish a charge for the disposal of intrastate solid
wastes accepted for disposal at certain sanitary landfills
owned and/or operated by Anne Arundel County; to direct the
Director of the Department of Public Works to compile and
maintain certain statistical data regarding disposal of
certain solid wastes; to specify the contents and filing
requirements for a report of the data; and matters related
generally thereto.

WHEREAS, the development, licensing, and construction
of a sanitary landfill for the deposit of solid waste is an
expensive, time consuming and burdensome process; and

WHEREAS, Anne Arundel County has only limited land area
available for use as landfills considering the location of
surface and subsurface water, population distribution, and
the costs associated with the transportation of solid
