Bill No. 118-80

AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to ratify an agreement executed
by the County Executive between Anne Arundel County,
Maryland and the State of Maryland for the purpose of
providing water service to the House of Correction Complex.

WHEREAS, Section 405(k) of the Charter of Anne Arundel
County, Maryland, authorizes the County Executive to sign
instruments on behalf of the County; and

WHEREAS, Chapters 519 and 693 of the Laws of Maryland
of 1980 provide that the construction of a correctional
facility at the House of Corrections Complex, Jessup, Anne
Arundel County, Maryland is contingent upon the execution of
an agreement between Anne Arundel County, Maryland and the
State of Maryland regarding water service by August 1, 1980;
and

WHEREAS, the approved draft of the agreement was not
submitted to Anne Arundel County, Maryland by the Department
of General Services of the State of Maryland until July 14,
1980; and

WHEREAS, the County Executive of Anne Arundel County,
Maryland, has executed the agreement and the Department of
General Services has assured that it will be approved by the
Board of Public Works of Maryland by August 1, 1980; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 715 of the Charter of Anne
Arundel County, Maryland an ordinance is necessary to ratify
any effect of the agreement beyond June 30, 1981.

Effective Date August 7, 1980.

Bill No. 119-80

AN ORDINANCE to repeal and reenact, with amendments,
Section 12-1348 of the Anne Arundel County Code (1967
Edition and Supplements), Title 12, "Licenses, Permits and
Franchises", Subtitle 13, "Taxicabs", to permit solicitation
of fares or persons by taxicab licensees or operators at
certain unrestricted locations.
