to the classified service of Anne Arundel County.

AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to repeal and reenact, with
amendments. Section 14A-306 (c)(2) of the Anne Arundel
County Code (1967 Edition and Supplements), Title 14A,
"Public Ethics", Subtitle 3, "Conflicts of Interest",
enacted by Bill No. 121-79, to clarify certain circumstances
under which County officials or employees may accept certain
gifts.
WHEREAS, Bill No. 121-79 adopted the Anne Arundel
County Public Ethics Law; and
WHEREAS, Bill No. 121-79 as finally considered and
acted upon by the County Council and signed by the County
Executive contained a provision which was at variance from
that originally introduced before the County Council and
which had not been the subject of any formal amendatory
action of the Council; and
WHEREAS, the provision as finally enacted by Bill No.
121-79 was and is contrary to the intent of the County
Council;

AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to repeal Section 1-216 (b) of
the Anne Arundel County Code (1967 Edition and Supplements),
Title 1, "Administration", Subtitle 2, "Personnel", Article
II, "Classified Service", and enact new Section 1-216 (b) in
lieu thereof, to stand in the place of the Section repealed;
to upgrade certain salaries of all employees represented by
the Anne Arundel County Professional Fire Fighters Local
1563, International Association of Fire Fighters (I.A.F.F.)
AFL-CIO-CLC; and matters generally related thereto.
Effective Date June 17, 1980.
