RESOLUTION NO. R4-80

CHARTER AMENDMENT NO. 2-80

RESOLUTION of the Town Council of the Town of Somerset
adopted pursuant to the authority of Article XI-E of the
Constitution of Maryland and Section 13 of Article 23A of
the Annotated Code of Maryland to amend Section 83-2 of the
Charter of the Town of Somerset as it appears in the
Montgomery County Code (1972) so as to delete the
description by courses and distances of the limits of the
Town and to provide that the corporate boundaries shall be
as they existed immediately prior to the effective date of
the amendment and as they may hereafter be amended as
provided by law and that a description of the boundaries
shall be maintained on file with the clerk-treasurer and
such other officials and agencies as may be required by law.

[Section 83-2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Montgomery County, (1972 Edition), repealed and reenacted,
with amendments.

SYKESVILLE

(Carroll County)

RESOLUTION NO. 1978-2

WHEREAS, a Petition has been presented to the Mayor and
Council to enlarge the corporate limits of the town by the
annexation of those several tracts or parcels of land
contiguous to and adjoining the existing corporate
boundaries of said town; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of Sykesville have
caused to be made a verification of the signatures upon said
Petition for Annexation and have ascertained that the
persons signing the Petition for Annexation represent at
least twenty-five percent (25%) of the persons who reside in
the area to be annexed and who are registered voters in
County elections in the precinct in which the territory to
be annexed is located; and the owners of at least
twenty-five percent (25%) of the assessed valuation of the
real property located in the area to be annexed.

[Section 18 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Carroll
County, added.
