ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 23-11 of Article
33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, the State
Administrative Board of Election Laws does hereby certify
that at the General Election held in the State of Maryland
on November 4, 1980, an Act known as Chapter 136 of the Acts
of 1980 was submitted to the voters of the State of Maryland
under the provisions of Article XIV of the Constitution of
the State of Maryland, said Act being as follows:
AN ACT concerning Anne Arundel County - Election of
County Council. For the purpose of allowing the charter for
the government of Anne Arundel County to provide ascertain
method for the election of county council members; declaring
this measure to be a local matter for certain purposes; and
submitting this amendment to the qualified voters of the
State of Maryland for their adoption or rejection.
And it is hereby certified that at said election,
512,318 votes were cast for the adoption of said Chapter 136
and 171,478 votes were cast against the adoption of said
Chapter 136, the said Chapter 136 of the Acts of 1980 has
therefore been ratified by the qualified voters of the State
of Maryland as well as the qualified voters of Anne Arundel
County.
