A NURSE MIDWIFE MAY PRACTICE MIDWIFERY ONLY IN

CONJUNCTION WITH A PHYSICIAN.

7-604 7-603.

AN INDIVIDUAL WHO ON JUNE 30, 1981 IS LICENSED AS A
NURSE MIDWIFE BY THIS STATE IS GOVERNED BY THIS TITLE AND
ANY OTHER PROVISIONS THAT CONCERN ADDITIONAL ACTS IN THE
PRACTICE OF REGISTERED NURSING THAT RELATE TO THE PRACTICE
OF NURSE MIDWIFERY.

7-706.

(a)  A person may not knowingly employ to practice
registered nursing any person who is not authorized to
practice registered nursing under this title.

(b)  A person may not knowingly employ to practice
licensed practical nursing any person who is not authorized
to practice licensed practical nursing under this subtitle.

[(c) A person may not knowingly employ to practice
midwifery any person who is not authorized to practice
midwifery by this State.]

7-707.

(a)  A person may not fail to report the employment or
placement of a registered nurse to practice registered
nursing as required under § 7-505 of this title.

(b)  A person may not fail to report the employment or
placement of a licensed practical nurse to practice licensed
practical nursing as required under § 7-505 of this title.

[(c) A person may not fail to report the employment or
placement of a licensed nurse midwife as required under §
7-505 of this title.]

7-710.

[(a) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this
section, a] A person who violates any provision of this
subtitle is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is
subject:

(1)  For a first offense, to a fine not exceeding
$100; and

(2)  For any subsequent violation of the same
provision, to a fine not exceeding $500 or imprisonment not
exceeding 6 months or both.

[(b) A person who violates any provision of Subtitle 6
of this title is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction
is subject to a fine not exceeding $500.]
