of only some of the Board members. It is
impractical, if not impossible, for all Board
members to attend. The revision is called to the
attention of the General Assembly.

Subsection (f) of this section is new language
added to state expressly what presently is only
implied in the law — that there is no limit on
the number of times an applicant may retake the
examination.

In subsection (g) of this section, "authorized"
is substituted for "approved" for clarity.

6-305. WAIVER OF REQUIREMENTS.

(A)  IN GENERAL.

(1)  SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THIS
SUBSECTION, THE BOARD MAY WAIVE THE EXAMINATION AND
APPRENTICESHIP REQUIREMENTS OF § 6-302 OF THIS SUBTITLE AND
ISSUE A MORTICIAN LICENSE TO AN APPLICANT WHO IS LICENSED TO
PRACTICE MORTUARY SCIENCE IN ANY OTHER STATE.

(2)  THE BOARD MAY GRANT A WAIVER UNDER THIS
SUBSECTION ONLY IF THE APPLICANT:

(I)  PAYS THE LICENSE FEE REQUIRED BY THE
BOARD UNDER § 6-303 OF THIS SUBTITLE;

(II)  WAS A LICENSED MORTICIAN IN THE OTHER
STATE; AND

(III)  MEETS ANY OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS
THAT THE BOARD ESTABLISHES UNDER THIS SUBSECTION.

(3)  THE BOARD MAY GRANT A WAIVER ONLY IF THE
STATE IN WHICH THE APPLICANT IS LICENSED:

(I)  GRANTS A SIMILAR WAIVER TO LICENSEES
OF THIS STATE; AND

(II)  HAS STANDARDS FOR A MORTICIAN LICENSE
THAT ARE NOT LOWER THAN THOSE OF THIS STATE.

(B)  VETERANS.

THE BOARD SHALL WAIVE THE EXAMINATION AND
APPRENTICESHIP REQUIREMENTS OF THIS SUBTITLE FOR A VETERAN
OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE UNITED STATES WHO:

(1)  WAS HONORABLY DISCHARGED;

(2)  PAYS THE LICENSE FEE REQUIRED BY THE BOARD
UNDER § 6-303 OF THIS SUBTITLE;

(3)  IS A GRADUATE OF A RECOGNIZED COLLEGE OF
EMBALMING;
