requested by the administrative board of either retirement
system, in which case the cost of [said] THAT valuation
shall be borne equally by the two systems. The rate of
contribution for any employee so transferred after he
transfers shall be determined by the provisions of the
retirement system to which [he] THE EMPLOYEE transfers.

(b) Any employee who has so transferred since July 1,
1965, whose rate of contribution is reduced or increased,
shall have any excess EMPLOYEE contributions [he has made]
refunded [to him] and pay the amount of any shortage of

contributions.

33.

Upon becoming a member of the retirement OR PENSION
system to which [he] THE EMPLOYEE has transferred, [such
person] THE EMPLOYEE shall thereafter pay the rate of
contribution applicable to a member and be eligible for such
pension and annuity as is provided by law in such retirement
system, including the credits for previous service in the
retirement system from which [he has] THE EMPLOYEE
transferred as provided in § 32 of this subtitle, [with the
condition, however, that if he] EXCEPT THAT IF AN EMPLOYEE
retires on a retirement allowance in the system to which
[he] THE EMPLOYEE transferred within five years after the
transfer, the benefits payable with respect to the service
credit in the system from which the transfer was made shall
not be greater than those which would have been payable with
respect to [such] THAT service, had [he] THE EMPLOYEE
remained in [such] THAT system.

[34.

Notwithstanding anything in §§ 31 and 32 of this
subtitle to the contrary, a member of one of such retirement
systems on June 1, 1947, who was a member of another such
system immediately prior to entering his present system, or
who was in a service subsequently covered by such a system,
may effect such a transfer provided he deposits the amount
of the contributions paid or payable to him from such other
retirement system, if any, prior to the expiration of three
months following June 1, 1961. To qualify under the terms
and conditions of this section, such members shall exhibit
such data and information to the administrative head of the
system to which he has transferred as may be required by the
rules and regulations of said system or the administrative
head thereof.]

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1981.
