AN ACT concerning

Driver Education Driver's License Fees

FOR the purpose of repealing certain provisions of law
relating to the termination of State support of the
high school driver education program in this State; and
generally relating to the continuation of State support
of the high school driver education program in this
State increasing certain fees for certain driver's
licenses.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article - Education Transportation

[7-412.1.

(a) (1) The General Assembly shall continue to

evaluate the cost effectiveness of the driver education
program in this State and the validity of continuing State
support of this program.

(2) If no action to the contrary is taken by the
General Assembly by July 1, 1983, § 7-412 of this subtitle
is repealed and subsection (b) of this section effective,
both to take effect July 1, 1984.

(b) Each county board may provide a program of driver
education to eligible students in accordance with the
provisions of Title 16, Subtitle 5 of the Transportation
Article.]
