AN ACT concerning
Savings and Loan Associations
FOR the purpose of continuing the existence of the Board of
Savings and Loan Association Commissioners and the
Division of Savings and Loan Associations in accordance
with the Regulatory Programs Evaluation Act (sunset
law) by extending to a certain date the termination
provisions relating to the statutory and regulatory
authority of these agencies and the regulation of the
savings and loan industry; correcting certain
references; and making certain stylistic changes; and
requiring a study of the "sunset" law to be conducted.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article - Financial Institutions
Section 8-104, 8-209, 8-307, '8-408, 9-908, and 10-117
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1980 Volume and 1980 Supplement)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:
Article - Financial Institutions
8-104.
Subject to the evaluation and reestablishment
provisions of the Regulatory Programs Evaluation Act of
1978, § 8-101(b) and (c) and § 8-102 of this subtitle
relating to the Board of Savings and Loan Association
Commissioners and the Division of Savings and Loan
Associations and relating to the regulation of savings and
loan associations are of no effect and may not be enforced
after July 1, [1982] 1988.
8-209.
Subject to the evaluation and reestablishment
provisions of the Regulatory Programs Evaluation Act of
1978, this subtitle relating to the Board of Savings and
Loan Association Commissioners and the Division of Savings
and Loan Associations and relating to the regulation of
savings and loan associations [are] IS of no effect and may
not be enforced after July 1, [1982] 1988.
