impression that the ownership or identity of the
operator of a laboratory or workroom may
determine whether it falls within the definition
of "dental laboratory".

The last half of present Art. 32, § 25(c)l.a.,
which excludes a "dental laboratory or dental
workroom operated as a part of a dental office"
from the definition of "dental laboratory" under
certain circumstances, now appears in § 4-402 of
this title as an exception to the written work
authorization requirements imposed on dental
laboratories.

As to the meaning of the word "person", see §
1-101 of this article.

(F)  DENTAL LABORATORY WORK.

"DENTAL LABORATORY WORK" MEANS MAKING, REPAIRING, OR
ALTERING A DENTAL APPLIANCE EXTRAORALLY.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language added
to avoid the needless repetition of language such
as "making, repairing, or altering a dental
appliance extraorally".

(G)  DENTIST.

"DENTIST" MEANS AN INDIVIDUAL WHO PRACTICES DENTISTRY.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language added
to provide an express definition of "dentist"; it
is stated in the standard form used to define the
various health practitioners regulated under this
article.

(H) LICENSE.

(1)  "LICENSE" MEANS, UNLESS THE CONTEXT REQUIRES
OTHERWISE, A LICENSE ISSUED BY THE BOARD TO:

(I)  PRACTICE DENTISTRY; OR

(II)  PRACTICE DENTAL HYGIENE.

(2)  "LICENSE" INCLUDES, UNLESS THE CONTEXT
REQUIRES OTHERWISE:

(I)  A GENERAL LICENSE TO PRACTICE
DENTISTRY;

(II)  A LIMITED LICENSE TO PRACTICE
DENTISTRY;

(III) A TEACHER'S LICENSE TO PRACTICE
DENTISTRY;
