REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language derived
without substantive change from the first two
clauses of the first sentence of Art. 32, § 2.

(C)  DENTAL APPLIANCE.
"DENTAL APPLIANCE" MEANS ANY:

(1)  ORAL PROSTHESIS;

(2)  ORTHODONTIC APPLIANCE;

(3)  REGULATORY APPLIANCE;

(4)  SUPPORTIVE APPLIANCE; OR

(5)  OTHER INTRAORAL APPLIANCE OR RESTORATION.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language added
to avoid needless repetition of expressions such
as "oral prosthesis, orthodontic appliance,
regulatory appliance, supportive appliance, or
any other intraoral appliance or restoration to
be worn or used in the human mouth".

(D)  DENTAL HYGIENIST.

"DENTAL HYGIENIST" MEANS AN INDIVIDUAL, OTHER THAN A
DENTIST, WHO PRACTICES DENTAL HYGIENE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is derived from part of
the first two clauses of Art. 32, § 26(b).

The term "dentist" is substituted for "duly
licensed dentist" in light of the definition of
"dentist" in subsection (g) of this section and
the license exceptions in § 4-301(b) of this
title.

The balance of present Art. 32, § 26(b) now
appears in § 4-308 of this title.

(E)  DENTAL LABORATORY.

"DENTAL LABORATORY" MEANS ANY COMMERCIAL LABORATORY OR
WORKROOM IN WHICH A PERSON ENGAGES IN DENTAL LABORATORY
WORK.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language derived
without substantive change from the first half of
Art. 32, § 25(c)l.a.

The language "in which a person engages" is
substituted for "operated by any person,
association, corporation or other entity that is
engaged, directly or indirectly", for clarity.
