(II) "CONVEYANCE" DOES NOT INCLUDE A
CARRYING OR TRANSPORTING DEVICE, REGARDLESS OF CAPACITY WITH
A CAPACITY OF LESS THAN 300 GALLONS, WHEN USED BY A FARMER
WHILE ACTUALLY ENGAGED IN THE TRADE OR BUSINESS OF FARMING.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1981.

(House Bill 252)

AN ACT concerning

Bicycle Equipment

FOR the purpose of allowing the use of a certain flashing
amber light or a certain lamp that emits a red light on
a bicycle or bicyclist.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article - Transportation
Section 21-1207(a)(2)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1977 Volume and 1980 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article - Transportation

21-1207.

(a) (2) A BICYCLE OR BICYCLIST MAY BE EQUIPPED WITH
[A] A lamp that emits a red light OR A FLASHING AMBER LIGHT
visible from a distance of 500 feet to the rear [may be
used] in addition to the red reflector required by paragraph
(1) of this subsection.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1981.
