        And the ready and Approved ways and Means for the Admrtring
        of Medecines for the removall of Such distempers in the Month of
        March Anno Domi 1700 in Talbot County within the Jurisdiction of
        this Court At the Speciall instance and request of her the Said Mary
        (Who then languished under a violent distempter) that if the Sd Andrew
        would use his Skill and industry in Applying Such medecines as
        As to his the Said Andrew’s Skill and discretion Should Seem meet
        unto her the said Mary in order to cure her afd Malady that then
        And in consideration thereof the Said Mary upon herself assumed
        And unto the Said Andrew faithfully promised that She the Sd
        Mary would pay and Satisfy unto him the Said Andrew So much Good
        Tobacco as he Should reasonably deserve for his medecines &
        And trouble in order to prform the afd Cure. And the afd Andrew
        in fact Sayth that Trusting to the fare promise and Assumpcon
        of the afd Mary he the Afd Andrew did use the utmost of his
        Skill and Industry and did Apply good and wholsom Medecines
        unto her the Said Mary proper for the removing of her distempr:
        for which he the Said Andrew Sayth he Doth reasonably deserve
        the Sum of five hundred and fifteen pounds of tobacco
        As by An Account to this decln Annexed and here in Cort
        brought is Expressed; Yet Nevertheless the Said Mary her
        fare promises and Assumption before made not minding nor
        regarding but plotting Contriving and fraudulently intending
        him the Said Andrew Craftilly to deceive and in this behalf to
        Defraud the afd 515lb tobo. unto the Said Andrew She the Sd. Mary
        did not pay when Sole altho: often demanded, Neither hath the
        Said Henry or Mary or any of them Since the Celibration
        of their Nuptialls paid the Same Altho’ often thereunto required
        but the Same to pay they or ever of them have denyed and refu:
        :sed and Still doth deny and unjustly detaine to the damage of
        the Said Andrew 100olb of tobacco and thereupon he brings this
        Suit //    Earle pr qr.    Plegs. &ca. Jno Doe R Roe =====

        in this Accon in order for tryall This Court
        The Deft. by Richd. Macklin their Attry Come and defend the force
        And injury when &ca. And Says that for the Manifold uncertainties
        imperfections and insufficiencies in the plaintifs decln And the mattr
        in the Same Contained they the Said Defendts. are not bound
        nor by the Law of the Land are obliged to Answer thereunto —
        All which they are ready to Averr whereupon for want of
        of A Sufficient decln of him the Said plaintf. And Sufficient Mater
        in the Same to be Contained they the Said Defts— pray Judgt:
