	Salt vallue four Shills and Six pence of like moneÿ afs^d being y^e p^rp^r goods of him y^e S^d Jn^o Sallter w^thout leave or Lÿcence first had & obtained Either fro y^e S^d Jn^o Sallter himselfe, wife or overseer Contrarÿ to – Justice & in Contempt of our S^d Ladÿ y^e Qⁿ. y^t now is &c^a to y^e Great Damãge of y^e S^d Jn^o Sallter & ag^t y^e form of y^e act of assemblÿ afs^d bÿ w^th accon hath accrewed to him y^e S^d Jn^o Sallter as well for ~ our Said Ladÿ y^e Qⁿ. as for himselfe to require and have of y^e afs^d Jn^o Nichoalson y^e afs^d two thousand pounds of tobacco Nevertheless y^e afs^d Jn^o Nichoalson alltho^h often required y^e afs^d two thousand pounds of tobacco unto y^e S^d Jn^o Sallter hath not yett rend^rd but y^e Same to him hitherto to rend^r. hath alltogether Gainsayd and as yett Doth Gain = Saÿ Whereupon y^e S^d Jn^o Sallter Saith y^t he is worse & hath Damãge to y^e vallue of four thousand pounds of tobacco and thereupon as well for our Ladÿ y^e Queen as for himselfe he brings this Suit &c^a Pledg prosct Phillipson p^r Q^r John Doe Richard Roe And The Said John Nichoalson bÿ Jacob Covington his att^rÿ app^rd and w^th leave Imparled untill next^Courty^e Same Daÿ was Given the pltf allsoe att w^ch Said next Court This accon was Continued untill this p^rsent Court viz this 27^th Daÿ of March anno Dñi 1705 when comes y^e S^d pltfs bÿ y^e att^rÿ afs^d ~~as als~~ who praÿs y^t y^e - S^d Deft maÿ app^r to y^e Decloⁿ afs^d, and y^e S^d Def^t bÿ his S^d att^rÿ app^rs who Defends y^e force and Enjurÿ and fo^r plea Saith That he is not Guiltÿ and of this he putts himselfe upon the Countrÿ Covinton p^r y^e Def^ce And the pltfs in like man^r Phillipson p^r Q^re Issue Joyned Thereupon Comãnd is Given to y^e Sher^f of Kent Countÿ y^t he Imediatelÿ — Cause to Come here twelve &c^a bÿ whom &c^a who neither &c^a because as well &c^a and y^e S^d Sher^f maketh retⁿ of his S^d p^rcept y^e Same Daÿ and year and Saith y^t he hath here readÿ twlve &c^a as bÿ his S^d p^rcept he was Comãnded to witt Charles Wright, Edward Elliot Richard Mason Edward Head Geo: ffaxon Jn^o Loÿde Peter Green W^m. Sweatnam, fflower Wallker Steaphen Rich Phill^p Davis Tho^s Puneÿ who being Due Ellected tryed and Sworn to Saÿ y^e truth in y^e p^rmisses Doe Saÿ upon their oaths wee of y^e Jurÿ Doe finde for plantifes y^e penãlltÿs in Damãges two thousand pounds of tob^o and Cost of Suit Which being bÿ y^e C&245rt heard and fullÿ understood It is bÿ y^e Justices here Considered this 27^th Daÿ of March ann^o Dñi 1705 y^t The Said — John Sallter who prosecutes^{as well}fo^r our Said Ladÿ y^e Queen as fo^r himselfe Doe recov^r ag^t y^e Said John Nichoalson as well y^e Sum^e of two — thousand pounds of tobacco the penalltÿ in Damãges According to y^e verdict above, as well fo^r his owne use as for y^e use of our S^d Sove = raigne Ladÿ y^e Queen as y^e Sum^e of pounds of tob^o Cost of Suit & y^e Def^t in Mercÿ &c^a
