           And the S^d. Def^t. by M Earle his Att^ry Comes and Defends y^e.
      force and Injury when &c^a. And prays leave to Imp^rle hereunto untill
      Next Court which is granted him y^e. Same day is given the plaint^f also
           At Which Said next Court to wit this twenty Second day of Sep^r:
      Anno Dmⁱ. 1702 Comes y^e. S^d Plaint^f and prays y^t. the S^d Def^t: to his —
      Declⁿ May answer which was p^r y^e. Co^rt granted, but the Said Def^t. by
      himself or his Att^rys altho.’ Solemnly called Cometh not to make defen:
      to the accon afd but Makes default —
                It is therefore Considered by the Court here this twenty Secon^d
      day of Sept^r. afd that the Said John Parsons recover against
      the S^d. W^m. Burroughs as well the Sume of five hundred pounds
      of tobacco the debt afd As the Sume of two hundred and fifty ——
      Seven ————— pounds of tobacco Cost of Suit and the def^t. in M^rcy

	Giles Bond —	\| W^m. Baitman of Kent County Planter Stands Attached
	a^t	\| to Answer unto Giles Bond of a plea of Trespass
	W^m. Bateman	\| upon the Case —

      And Whereupon the Said Giles Bond by R: Macklin his Att^ry Complains
      y^t. Whereas a certaine Robert Smith Esq^r. before Thomas Smithson
      Esq^r. and his Associates then Justices of our Lord the King of the pro:
      :vinciall Court that is to Say at Annapolis in the province of Mary:
      :land by the Considerations Of the S^d. Court had recovered ag^t. the S^d.
      W^m. the Sume of four thousand Eight hundred and fourteen
      pounds of tobacco certaine Costs adjudged ag^t. him the S^d. W^m —
      Whereof he is Convict as also the Sume of Eight hundred forty &
      Six pounds of tobacco costs on a Scire facias by the S^d Court like
      wise adjudged and whereas also y^e. eighteenth day of October
      Anno Dmⁱ. 1701 by virtue of a writ of our Lord the King to take
      the Said W^m. Bateman to Satisfy unto the Said Robert Smith Esq^r:
      the Costs and damages afd Out of the afd prov^ll Court of our
      Lord the King at the prosecution of the said Robert Smith
      Esq^r: being taken out and to the then Sher^f of Kent County directed
      the S^d. W^m. Baiteman the 27^th: day of Nov^r. anno Dmⁱ. 1701 at Kent
      County within the Jurisdiction of this Court in Consideration y^t:
      y^e. Said Giles Bond at the Speciall instance and request of him the
      Said W^m. Bateman would Content and pay unto the Said Robert
      Smith Esq^r. the Sume of five thousand Six hundred and Sixty pounds of
      tobacco in the afd writt of Execution contained that then he the Said W^m—
      Bateman upon himself Assumed and unto the Said Giles Bond then and
