      his propr prson Appeares and Sayth yt. As to the Sume of one

      thousand pounds of tobacco^ the Condition of the Same bond Conta:
      he Cannot Say but yt. he is Justly indebted unto the sd plf in ye.
      Same and is therefore willing yt. Judgt. be entred agt. him for
      the Same and Costs of Suit &ca:
                Whereupon ye. Sd Plaintf by his Attrys afd in open Court
      Release unto the sd. Dfendt: ye. Sume of one thousand pounds of tobo:
      part of the penalty afd and acknowledgeth himself Satisfyedwth: ye. –
      Condn. as afd
                It is therefore Considered by the Justices here this twenty
      Second day of Septr. Anno Dmi. 1702 yt. the Sd Joseph Wood
      Recover agt. the Said George Green As well the Sume of
      one thousand pounds of tobacco the principall debt afd as the
      Sume of three hundred and nineteen —————
      pounds of tobacco Costs of Suit and the Deft. in Mercy &ca:

   the Same |    in Kent County in the afd Province was Sumoned
      to Answer unto Joseph Wood of Newcastle Merchant of a plea —
      that he render unto him the full and Just Sume of one thousand pds
      of good bright Sound Merchantable tobacco in Casq Clear of all
      Trash which to him he oweth and from him unjustly detains ~ As by
      The Decln and bill penall filed in this Court by Mi Earle Attry of
      the plaintf May at Large Appeare.
                And the Sd Defendt. in his proper prson Sayth in open Cort
      yt. As to the Sume of five hundred pounds of tobacco ye. principall
      Debt in ye. Said bill Contd. he Cannot Say but that he is and Stands
      Justly indebted unto the plaintf by his Attry afd in open Court releaseth
      unto the Deft. the penalty of the Same bill —
                It is therefore Considered by the Justices here this twenty Second day
      of Septr. Anno Domi 1702 that the Said Joseph Wood recover agt. the Sd. Joseph
      George Green as well the Sume of five hundred pounds of tobacco the –
