Section 35
Article 9 - Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1969 Edition and 1977 Supplement, as amended)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as
follows:
Article 9 - Charles County
35.
(A) THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SHALL ESTABLISH A BOARD
KNOWN AS THE SALARY REVIEW BOARD.
(B) THE SALARY REVIEW BOARD SHALL CONSIST OF TWO
MEMBERS APPOINTED BY THE CHARLES COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, ONE
MEMBER APPOINTED BY THE 29TH LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT
DELEGATION, ONE MEMBER APPOINTED BY THE CHARLES COUNTY
DEMOCRATIC CENTRAL COMMITTEE, ONE MEMBER APPOINTED BY THE
CHARLES COUNTY REPUBLICAN CENTRAL COMMITTEE, ONE MEMBER
APPOINTED BY THE CHARLES COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, AND ONE
MEMBER APPOINTED BY THE CHARLES COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
COMMISSION.
(C) THE BOARD SHALL MEET AS NECESSARY TO REVIEW THE
SALARIES SET BY LAW FOR COUNTY OFFICIALS AND SHALL MAKE ITS
RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS NO LATER THAN
DECEMBER 1, 1980.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
may not be construed to extend or apply to the salary of any
officer or official of Charles County in office on the
effective date of this Act, but if any changes are
recommended by the Salary Review Board created by this Act
concerning the salaries of the officers and officials of
Charles County, those changes shall take effect at the
beginning of the next following term of office.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That all laws or
parts of laws, public general or public local, inconsistent
with this Act, are repealed to the extent of the
inconsistency.
SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1980.
