Item (2)(i) of this section is new language
implied by the references in present CA §
6—208(c) and (e) to a hearing that is held on the
"application" and reflects the present practice
of the Board of Commissioners.

Item (2) (iii) and (iv) is new language added to
reflect the present practice of the Board of
Commissioners.

"Board of Commissioners" and "savings and loan
association" are defined in § 9—101 of this
title.

9-206. HEARING; PUBLICATION.

(A)   NOTICE AND HEARING.

ON RECEIPT OF THE ITEMS SPECIFIED IN § 9-205 OF THIS
SUBTITLE, THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS SHALL:

(1)   PUBLISH A NOTICE OF THE FILING AND PUBLIC
HEARING; AND

(2)   HOLD THE PUBLIC HEARING NOT MORE THAN 30
DAYS AFTER THE FILING.

(B)        PUBLICATION.

THE NOTICE SHALL BE PUBLISHED:

(1)       FOR AT LEAST 2 SUCCESSIVE WEEKS IN A
NEWSPAPER OF GENERAL CIRCULATION IN THE POLITICAL
SUBDIVISION WHERE THE PRINCIPAL BUSINESS OFFICE OF THE
PROPOSED SAVINGS AND LOAN ASSOCIATION IN THIS STATE WILL BE
LOCATED; AND

(2)       IN THE MARYLAND REGISTER AS PROVIDED IN THE
STATE DOCUMENTS LAW.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from CA § 6—208(b) and
the first sentence of (c).

As to subsection (b)(1) of this section, this
procedure conforms to that required for
application for a branch office, which requires
the notice to be published in a newspaper and as
provided in the State Documents Law.

In subsection (b) (1) of this section, the term
"principal business office" is used to make clear
that the notice is not directed to any office
