EMERGENCY BILL

AN EMERGENCY ACT concerning

The Landlord-Tenant Code

FOR the purpose of providing that the posting of any
multi-family rental facility as "unfit for human habitation"
or condemned for outstanding housing code violations by the
Department of Licenses and Permits shall be prima facie
evidence of a defective tenancy; further providing that any
tenant of such facility may immediately file a written
complaint with the Director of the Landlord-Tenant
Commission who may hold a hearing on such complaint provided
that seventy-two (72) hours written notice is given to the
landlord in such instance; further providing that the action
may be initiated by the Director of the Landlord-Tenant
Commission; and further providing that any remedies ordered
may be applied to all similarly situated tenants.
