Chapter 43

AN EMERGENCY ACT to amend subsections (a) and (b) of
Section 24-29, title "Same - Committees; Subcommittees and
advisory committees"; Subsection (e) of Section 24-33A,
title "Health Systems Agency, County Council and County
Executive"; and Subsection (a) of Section 24-33C, title
"Same - Appointment of director; staff", all of Chapter 24,
title "Health and Sanitation" of the Montgomery County Code,
1972, as amended, to revise standing committee membership
and approval authority over advisory and subcommittee
appointments; to revise the Council's authority to approve
or disapprove any proposed Board action previously reviewed
by the Council or Executive; and to require the Executive to
consider recommendations of the Board prior to appointing
the Director.

Effective Date December 11, 1978.

AN ACT to amend subsection 29-26(t) of Section 29-26,
title "Contents of Lease" of Article IV, title
"Landlord-Tenant Obligations", of Chapter 29, title
"Landlord-Tenant Relations" of the Montgomery County Code,
1972, as amended, to limit the liability of a tenant for
loss of rent in cases of leases terminated under certain
conditions.

Effective Date February 19, 1979

AN ACT to amend Chapter 49, title "Streets and Roads,"
of the Montgomery County Code 1972, as amended, by repealing
and re-enacting with amendments Section 49-39 thereof, title
"Permits for grading and construction — Conditions" to
delete the present six month automatic expiration period for
a road construction permit and to add an eighteen month
automatic expiration period unless extended in writing by
the director, department of transportation, so as to reflect
