AN ACT to transfer the duties of administration and
operation of the Baltimore County Jail from the chief of
police of Baltimore County to the sheriff of Baltimore
County, and to provide for the administration and operation
of the jail, and duties of the sheriff, by repealing Article
VIII. Jail and Warden, and Sections 7-107 through 7-113 and
Sections 7-115 and 7-116 thereunder, of title "Courts,
Fines, Forfeitures and Imprisonment" of the Baltimore County
Code, 1968, and by' enacting in lieu thereof new Sections
7-107 and 7-108 under new Article VIII, to be designated
"Jail", all under said title and code.

WHEREAS, the General Assembly of Maryland, through the
enactment of Senate Bill No. 841, 1979 Legislative Session,
provided for the transfer of the duties of administration
and operation of the Baltimore County Jail from the chief of
police for Baltimore County to the sheriff of Baltimore
County upon legislative act of the Baltimore County Council;
now, therefore

AN ACT to legalize the 1978 Cumulative Supplement to
the Baltimore County Code, 1978, and to make the same
evidence of the portions of the Charter, rules, regulations
resolutions, public local laws of Baltimore County,
Maryland, purporting to be contained therein.
