RESOLUTION NO. R-3-79
RESOLUTION TO INTRODUCE PROPOSED
ANNEXATION OF WOODEN PROPERTY
WHEREAS, a petition has been presented proposing to
enlarge the corporate boundaries of the Town of Somerset so
as to include an area encompassing Lots 25 and 26, Block H,
Somerset Heights, owned by Elizabeth S. and Eugene J.
Wooden, containing 0.99 acre of land, more or less, located
between the south end of Trent Street and River Road; and
WHEREAS, the signatures on said petition have been
verified and it has been ascertained that the persons
signing said petition represent at least twenty-five percent
(25%) of the persons who reside in the area to be annexed
who are registered voters in County elections in the
precinct in which the territory to be annexed is located,
and the owners of twenty-five percent (25%) of the assessed
valuation of the real property located in the area to be
annexed; and
WHEREAS, from the provisions of Section 19(c) of
Article 23A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1973
Replacement Volume), it is mandatory that the following
resolution be introduced proposing the change in boundaries
as requested by the petition.

Montgomery County, repealed and reenacted, with amendments.

CHARTER AMENDMENT NO. 1-79
"SUCCESSION TO OFFICE OF MAYOR"
RESOLUTION of the Town Council of the Town of Somerset
adopted pursuant to the authority of Article XI-E of the
Constitution of Maryland and Section 13 of Article 23A of
the Annotated Code of Maryland to amend Subsection (g) of
Section 83-16 of the Charter of the Town of Somerset as it
appears in the Montgomery County Code (1972) so as to
provide for the selection of a member of the Town Council to
act as Mayor in the absence or incapacity of both the Mayor
and Vice President of the Council.
[Section 83-16(g) of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Montgomery County, repealed and reenacted, with amendments.
