RESOLUTION NO. 1

RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL OF MOUNTAIN
LAKE PARK, MARYLAND, ADOPTED PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY OF
ARTICLE XI-E OF THE CONSTITUTION OF THE STATE OF MARYLAND
AND ARTICLE 23A OF THE ANNOTATED CODE OF MARYLAND (1957
EDITION), TITLE "CORPORATIONS-MUNICIPAL", TO AMEND CHAPTER
26 OF THE CODE OF PUBLIC LOCAL LAWS OF GARRETT COUNTY (1971
EDITION), TO-WIT: SECTION 26-5 ENTITLED, "SALARY," AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.

WHEREAS, the salaries of the Mayor and Town Council of
Mountain Lake Park have remained unchanged since 1966, and

WHEREAS, the demands upon the time and effort of the
Mayor and Town Council have increased significantly since
1966; and

WHEREAS, the offices of Mayor and Town Council require
the services of persons dedicated to the public trust and
public betterment; and

WHEREAS, the present salaries paid the Mayor and Town
Council is inadequate to compensate them for their time and
effort.

[Section 26-5 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Garrett County, repealed and reenacted, with amendments.

Effective Date May 27, 1975]
