NOW, THEREFORE, I, HARRY HUGHES, GOVERNOR OF MARYLAND,
PURSUANT TO ARTICLE II, SECTION 24, OF THE
CONSTITUTION OF MARYLAND, AND ARTICLE 41, SECTION
15C, OF THE ANNOTATED CODE OF MARYLAND, HEREBY
PROMULGATE THE FOLLOWING ORDER EFFECTIVE
IMMEDIATELY:

1.  The Operation and Maintenance of Government
House Program presently assigned to the
Department of General Services-Annapolis
Buildings and Grounds is hereby reassigned to the
Executive Department-Governor.

2.  Any unexpended appropriation in the custody
or control of the Department of General Services
for the purpose of financing this program shall
be transferred by approved budget amendment to
the Executive Department-Governor.

EXECUTIVE ORDER OF JULY 13, 1979

WHEREAS, The 1978 General Assembly adopted House Joint
Resolution 115 calling for creation of a Task Force on
permits and licenses; and

WHEREAS, There is need for review and revision of State and
local statutes relating to duplicative overlapping and
unnecessary license permit and hearing requirements;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, HARRY HUGHES, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF
MARYLAND BY VIRTUE OF THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME BY
ARTICLE II, SECTION 24 OF THE CONSTITUTION OF MARYLAND
AND ARTICLE 41, SECTION 15C OF THE ANNOTATED CODE OF
MARYLAND HEREBY PROMULGATE THE FOLLOWING ORDER
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY:

1.  There is hereby created a Task Force on
Permits Simplification.

2.  The Task Force shall be composed of three
members of the Senate appointed by the President
of the Senate, three members of the House of
Delegates appointed by the Speaker of the House
of Delegates, one representative of the Maryland
State Chamber of Commerce, appointed by the
Governor, one representative of labor
organizations, appointed by the Governor, one
consumer representative, appointed by the
