Governor

House Bill No. 1235

AN ACT concerning

Professional Corporations - Name

FOR the purpose of permitting a professional corporation to
include in its name either "professional corporation"
or the abbreviation "P.C."; and clarifying language
specifying certain abbreviations that may be used in
the corporate name of a professional corporation in
meeting a statutory requirement pertaining to the name
of a professional corporation; and clarifying language.

May 27, 1980
Honorable Benjamin L. Cardin
Speaker of the House of Delegates
State House
Annapolis, Maryland 21404

Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 1235.

This bill allows a professional corporation to include
in its official name the abbreviations "P.A." and "P.C." in
meeting the statutory requirement pertaining to the name of
a professional corporation.

Senate Bill 234, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on May 6, 1980 accomplishes the
same purpose.

Therefore it is unnecessary for me to sign House Bill
1235.

Sincerely,
Harry Hughes
Governor

House Bill No. 1260
