VETOES

President of the Senate

State House

Annapolis, Maryland 21404

Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 940.

This bill revises provisions of the Annotated Code
relating to working and operating businesses on Sundays in
certain counties.

House Bill 1319, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on May 27, 1980 accomplishes the
same purpose.

Therefore it is unnecessary for me to sign Senate Bill
940.

Sincerely,
Harry Hughes
Governor

Senate Bill No. 1017

AN ACT concerning

Juvenile Causes - Form for Providing Notice and Right
to Appeal Intake Officer's Decision

FOR the purpose of prescribing a form to be used to advise
persons of certain decisions of juvenile intake
officers; clarifying the procedure of appealing certain
decisions of intake officers; changing the time for
filing a juvenile petition; and generally relating to
appeals from certain decisions of juvenile intake
officers.

May 27, 1980
Honorable James Clark, Jr.
President of the Senate
State House
Annapolis, Maryland 21404

Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 1017.
