(2)  No member of the boards may be a member or
employee of the State Department of Health and Mental
Hygiene.

(3)  Members of the boards shall serve until the
expiration of the term for which they have been appointed or
until their successors are qualified.

(b)  [Their appointments shall be made as follows:

Three members of the first appointed boards shall have
terms of two, three and four years, respectively, and two
members shall serve terms of five years, all dating from
after July 1, 1972.] Board members [appointed thereafter]
shall serve terms of five years.

(c) (1) When [a] AN AUDIOLOGIST OR SPEECH PATHOLOGIST
vacancy occurs upon either of the boards, the Maryland
Speech and Hearing Association shall recommend not fewer
than three persons to fill each vacancy, and the GOVERNOR,
UPON THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE Secretary of Health and
Mental Hygiene shall make his appointment from the persons
so nominated.

(2)  The physician member of the boards shall be
selected by the [Secretary] GOVERNOR from a list of not less
than three persons selected by the Maryland Ear, Nose and
Throat Society endorsed by the medical and chirurgical
faculty of Maryland.

(3)  UPON THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE SECRETARY OF
HEALTH AND MENTAL HYGIENE, AND WITH THE ADVICE AND CONSENT
OF THE SENATE, THE GOVERNOR SHALL APPOINT THE CONSUMER
MEMBER OF THE BOARDS.

(g) [Three] FOUR members of a board constitute a
quorum to do business.

802.

(a)  There shall be a Board of Examiners for
Audiologists. The Board shall consist of [five] SIX members
to be appointed by the [Secretary of Health and Mental
Hygiene] MEANS SPECIFIED IN § 801 OF THIS SUBTITLE.

(b) (1) Members of the Board shall be residents of
this State.

(2)  Three members shall have paid work
experience in audiology for at least five years, hold the
certificate of clinical competence in audiology of the
American Speech and Hearing Association or the equivalent
and be approved by the Maryland Speech and Hearing
Association.

(3)  One member shall have paid work experience
in speech pathology for at least five years, hold the
