(4) HAS NOT WITHIN 2 YEARS PRIOR TO APPOINTMENT
NOR DURING THE TERM OF APPOINTMENT HAD A FINANCIAL INTEREST
IN AN INDIVIDUAL, ASSOCIATION, UNINCORPORATED ASSOCIATION,
CORPORATION, OR ANY OTHER ENTITY WHICH IS REGULATED BY THE
BOARD; AND
(5) MAY NOT PARTICIPATE IN ACTIVITIES RELATING
TO EXAMINATIONS UNLESS APPROVED BY THE BOARD.
(C) The Board shall be part of the Department of
Health and Mental Hygiene and shall file reports of its
activities with the Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene
at such times as he shall prescribe.
(D) IN THIS SECTION THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE
MEANINGS INDICATED.
(1) "FINANCIAL INTEREST" MEANS:
(I) AN ASSET WITH A FAIR MARKET VALUE OF
$1,000 OR MORE IN A CALENDAR YEAR; OR
(II) A SOURCE OF INCOME OF $500 OR MORE IN
A CALENDAR YEAR.
(2) "HOUSEHOLD MEMBER" MEANS:
(I) A PERSON'S SPOUSE, SON, DAUGHTER,
WARD, FINANCIALLY DEPENDENT PARENT, OR OTHER RELATIVE WHO
SHARES THE PERSON'S LEGAL RESIDENCE; OR
(II) A PERSON'S SON, DAUGHTER, WARD,
PARENT, OR OTHER RELATIVE OVER WHOSE FINANCIAL AFFAIRS THE
PERSON HAS LEGAL OR ACTUAL CONTROL.
500.
[The Governor of the State of Maryland shall within
thirty (30) days after the taking effect of this act appoint
three (3) chiropractors, who shall possess the
qualifications specified in § 499, to constitute the members
of said Board. Said members shall be so classified by the
Governor that the term of office of one shall expire in one
year, one in two years and one in three years from the date
of appointment. Annually thereafter the]
(A) THE Governor, upon the recommendation of the
Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene, shall appoint [one
member] EACH CHIROPRACTOR MEMBER from a list of five (5)
names, including the incumbent member, which list has been
submitted to HIM[, upon the recommendation of the Secretary
of Health and Mental Hygiene,] by the Maryland Chiropractic
Association, and which member shall serve for a period of
three (3) years.
