Section 269 and 272

Annotated Code of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 41 - Governor - Executive and
Administrative Departments

268.

[(a)] In this subtitle the following words have the
meanings indicated[.]:

[(b)] (1) "Authority" means a parking authority
established under § 270 of this subtitle.

(2) "BOND" OR "BONDS" MEANS ANY REVENUE BOND OR
BONDS ISSUED BY AN AUTHORITY PURSUANT TO THIS SUBTITLE.

[(c)] (3) "County" means Prince George's or Montgomery
County.

[(d) "Bylaw"] (4) "LOCAL LAW" means [by the law of the
county in which an authority is located, including laws,
ordinances, and resolutions] A LEGISLATIVE ACT OF THE COUNTY
IN WHICH AN AUTHORITY IS LOCATED.

[(e)] (5) "Property" means any real or personal
property or any interest in real or personal property, and
includes any franchise or easement.

269.

[It is found and declared:

(1) That there exists in this State a need to:
(i) Relieve unemployment;
(ii) Encourage industry and a balanced

economy;
and

(iii) Assist and retain existing industry;

(iv) Promote economic development; and

(2)  That the acquisition and construction of
vehicle parking facilities is necessary to meet these needs;
and

(3)  That the desired vehicle parking facilities
can best be achieved by public authorities that are
responsive to local needs.]
