A. [Number; amount.] The County Commissioners of St.
Mary's County are authorized [and directed] to award
[annually four (4)] scholarships [of three hundred dollars
($300.) each] AS THEY DEEM NECESSARY to any [student] PERSON
eligible for acceptance or in good standing at St. Mary's
College of Maryland. Upon a showing of satisfactory
performance, the scholarships may be renewed each year. At
the direction of the County Commissioners, unused portions
of awarded scholarships may be transferred to other eligible
applicants.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1980.

AN ACT concerning

St. Mary's County - Hospital Appropriations

FOR the purpose of repealing certain obsolete and
unnecessary provisions pertaining to hospital
appropriations and a resident physician in St. Mary's
County.

BY repealing

The Public Local Laws of St. Mary's County
Section 26-18 and 111-1

Article 19 - Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1978 Edition, as amended)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as
follows:

Article 19 - St. Mary's County

A. Authorization. The County Commissioners of St.
Mary's County are authorized to appropriate the sum of forty
thousand dollars ($40,000.), to be paid at the rate of ten
thousand dollars ($10,000.) per year over the next four (4)
years, on and after July 1, 1963, to St. Mary's Hospital.
