97 In the name of God Amen I William Pearce of Kent County in the State of Maryland being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make this my last Will and Testament in manner following vizt. I give to my Daughter Mary Pearce a Negro Girl named Mirtilla I do after all my Just Debts and funeral charges are paid I give two thirds of the Residue to my son James Pearce, and one other third to my Daughter Mary Pearce, and in case of the death of either of my said children, my son James before he arrives at the age of twenty one ~ without Issue or my Daughter Mary before she arrives Sixteen without Issue then I give the whole to the Survivor, But in case both my children should die as afd without Issue, then I give two thirds of my estate to my Sister Mary Capelle wife of Doctor Capelle, and one other third to my Sister Elizabeth Pearce, And I do hereby Constitute and appoint my good friend Robert Buchanan my Executor hereby ~ revoking all other Wills heretofore made In Witness whereof I have ~ hereunto set my hand and Seal this twenty second day of November Anno Domi 1783 Wm.
