     In the name of God Amen I William Pearce of Kent County
   in the State of Maryland being of sound and disposing mind and memory
   do make this my last Will and Testament in manner following vizt.
   I give to my Daughter Mary Pearce a Negro Girl named Mirtilla I do —
   after all my Just Debts and funeral charges are paid I give two thirds
   of the Residue to my son James Pearce, and one other third to my
   Daughter Mary Pearce, and in case of the death of either of my said
   children, my son James before he arrives at the age of twenty one ~
   without Issue or my Daughter Mary before she arrives tat the age of
   Sixteen without Issue then I give the whole to the Survivor, But in case
   both my children should die as afd without Issue, then I give two thirds
   of my estate to my Sister Mary Capelle wife of Doctor Capelle, and —
   one other third to my Sister Elizabeth Pearce, And I do hereby Constitute
   and appoint my good friend Robert Buchanan my Executor hereby ~
   revoking all other Wills heretofore made In Witness whereof I have ~
   hereunto set my hand and Seal this twenty second day of November Anno

   Signed Sealed published and declared in the presence of the Witnesses to be
   his last Will & Testament and Witnessed at the request of the Testator by us
   John Sheild,    Martha Kemp,     MarthaherXmarkCrouch —
                                    + December 16. Martha Crouch
   November 24th. 1784 Then came Martha Kemp^ two of the Witnesses to the within
   last Will & Testament of William Pearce late of Kent County decd and made Oath on the
   Holy Evangels of Almighty God, that they did see the Testator herein named Sign & Seal
   this Will, and that they heard him publish pronounce & declare the same to be his
   last Will and Testament, that at the time of his so doing he was to the best of their Apprehensions
   of Sound, disposing mind memory and Understood, And that they thesedeponantstogether
   with John Shield and Martha Crouch the other two Subscribing Witnessesthat was –
                               his name his together with these deponants
   present at the same time and Signed^ thereupon and as Witness to this Will in the
   presence and at the request of the Testator and in the presence of each other —
