   was to the best of their apprehensions of sound and disposing mind
   memory and Understanding; and that they respectively Subscribed
   their names as Witnesses to this Will, in the presence, and at the request
   of the Testator, and in the presence of each other . —

      In the name of God amen   We James Strauhn + Elizabeth
   Strauhn both of Kent County in the province + State of Maryland by the
   blessing of God in Reasonable good health and of perfect mind + memory ~
   yet calling to mind the mortality of the Body and also knowing that
   it is appointed by the Author of all Goodness for all men once to die, We
   do appoint Constitute and ordain this to be our last Will + Testament
   in manner and form following to Wit. 1st. We do Commit our Souls
   to Almighty God who gave them to us, and our Bodies to be buryed in
   a Christian like manner at the discretion of our Executor. which shall be
   hereafter mentioned.   2d and as to Our worldly Goods which it hath pleased
   Almighty God to bestow on us, that is to say, our whole Estates + properties
   both real & personal and all & every thing that we the said James Strauhn +
   Elizabeth Strauhn do or shall hereafter Claim we do leave will & bequeath unto
   Isaac Cornelius (son of Elizabeth Strauhn) to him and his heirs & Assigns ~
   forever Except the Sum of Thirty pounds or a Horse worth Thirty pounds
   which it is our will + desire shall be paid unto our Grandson James . —
   Strauhn Vansant when he arrives to the age of Twenty one by the said
   Isaac Cornelius, And Lastly we do appoint the said Isaac Cornelius
   our whole and sole Executor In Witness whereof we have Interchangeably
   hereunto set our hands and Seals this Twenty second day of December
   in the year of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred + Seventy ~
   Seven 1777. —
