    Nov,r24th1787. Then Came W.m Spearman one of the Subscribing Witnesses to
   the within last Will and Testament of Jn.o Clark late of Kent County Deceased,
   and made Oath on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God, that he did see
   the Testator therein mentioned Sign and Seal this Will, and that he heard him
   Publish Pronounce and Declare the same to be his last Will and Testament —
   that at the time of his so doing he was to the best of his apprehension of Sound
   and Disposing mind Memory and Understanding, and that Edwart Stewart
   and John Stewart Beaston the other two Subscribing Witnesses was Present and Sign’d
   their Names as Witnesses to this Will together with this Deponant in the Presence and
   at the Request of the Testator and in the Presence of each other — Before

     In the Name of God Amen, I William Gay of Kent County and
    State of Maryland being very Sick and Weak but of Sound disposing Mind —
   and Memory do think Proper to make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament
   in manner and form following to Wit — —   —    —   —
   Imprimis, My Body I Recomend to be decently Buryed by my Executrix
   hereafter mentioned ~ I Give and Bequeath unto my Loving Wife Rachel
   Gay all my Real Estate being the Plantation whereon I now live during her
    Natural life and after her Decease I Give and Bequeath all the afs.d Land —
   and Plantation being two thirds thereof which I Purchased of William and Mary
   Wilmer, and John and Sarah Haley unto my Beloved Son Robert Gay, his.
   Heirs and Assigns forever, and my Will and desire is that my said Son
   Robert, shall yeald and Pay unto my other four Children Namely Sarah,
   Mary, John, and Ann Gay, the Sum of Fifty Pounds to each of my
   afs.d Children, to be paid in five equal Payments, the Sum of Ten Pounds
     Annually to each of them, untill the whole is Paid after my said Son —
