   In the Name of God Amen. I. John Miers of Kent County and State of
   Maryland Planter being of Perfect sound mind and Memory and Calling to mind
   the uncertainty of all Transitory things and that it is Ordain’d for all once to Die
   do make my Last Will and Testament in manner following —   — –
   First I Recommend my soul to Almighty God who gave it me and my
   Body to be Buried as my Relationes and Friends shall think Proper and –
   Touching my Worldly Goods and Estate wherewith it has Pleased God to Bless
   me I will and Bequeath the whole and every Part in form and Manner following
   Item I will and Bequeath (after my Just Debts is paid ) my Will whole
    Estate both Personal and Real unto my Children, and that my —
   my Land which is known by the Name of Mierses Chance at Publick
   Vandue and the Mony Apply’d to the Before mentioned uses —
   I Declare this to be my last will and Testament Revoking disannuling
   and making Void all Former Wills whatever made by me And
   I Do appoint my Son Stephen Miers my Sole Executor of this my
   Last will and Testament . – In Witness whereof I have hereunto
   put my hand and Seal this First Day of March one Thousand –
   seven Hundred and Eighty seven — 1787 —   ——
