177 Mattw. Smith In the Name of God Amen I^ being Sick & week in Body but of sound mind and memory and Knowing that all what Men once must die, as to has bin pleas’d to bestow me, I will and desire as followeth, first my will is that my Just debts and Buriel Expences, be paid – Secondly, I Give and Bequeath to my loving wife Hannah Smith all the residue and remainder of my estate real and personal during her Natural life and at hir Disseas my will is that my Sister will’d my Wife, witness my hand and Seal this Fifteenth day of July seventeen hundred and Eighty five Matthew Smyth {Seal} Sign’d and Seal’d in presents of us, and at the request of the Testator N.B. the words, at and my was interlin’d before Sign’d and Seal Gillt. Falconar, Walter Meeds, John Rolinson // June 23rd. 1786 Then came Walter Meeds one of the Subscribing Witnesses to the within last will and Testament of Mathew Smith late of Kent County decd and made oath on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God, that he did see the Testator therein named sign and Seal this will and that he heard him publish pronounce & and declare the same to be his last will and Testament that at the time of his so doing he apprehended the Testator was in Liquor & that some time after he had sign’d sd, will, to wit three or four days, he the sd, Testator then being Sober & in his proper Senses Informed him this deponant that he had made this will and approved thereof, and that Gilbert Falconer & Jno. Rolinson the other Subscribing witness was pre= = sent at the same time & Signed their names as witnesses to this will together with this deponant in the presence & at the request of the Testator & in the presence of each other Before J Nicholson Regr |
