178 In the Name of God Amen I James Vansant of Kent County State of Maryland being Sick and weak of Body but of perfect Sound mind and Judgement and calling to mind the Mortality of my Body, and knowing that it is appointed unto all men once to diedo make Ordain and Constitute this my last will and Testament in manner and form following – First of all I Give and Bequeath my Sould to Almigty God who gave it me Beseeching him of his Infinite Mercy to Accept of it and my Body I leave to be Buried in some Christian Burial place at the discretion of my Executors, and Concerning what worldly Goods after my Just debts and funeral expences are paid I Bequeath in the following manner Imprimis, I Give leave and Bequeath unto my Brother, Benjamin Vansant all and Singular my lands and Tenements to him and his Heirs forever, and in Case he should^diewithout Heirs then my will is that my Brother Stephen Vansant and his heirs shall enjoy the same forever Item the Remaining part of my personal estate after Complying with this my last willI Give and leave to be Equally divided Between my Two afore &smentioned Brothers Namely Benjamin and Stephen Vansant to them and their heirs, and in case either of^themdies without, Issue then my will is that, the Surviving one and his heirs shall enjoy the whole forever Lastly I do Constitute and Appoint my Father Cornelius Vansant Sole executor of this my last will and Testament hereby Revoking and disanulling all other will or wills theretofore made by me and declare this to be my last will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this fourteenth day of April 1786 James Vansant {Seal} |
