AN ACT concerning
Juvenile Causes - Motor Vehicle Violations
FOR the purpose of repealing altering provisions pertaining
to the requirement that complaints alleging motor
vehicle violations committed by juveniles be filed
directly with the office of the State's Attorney;
specifying that only complaints alleging certain motor
vehicle violations by certain juveniles shall be filed
directly with the Office of the State's Attorney; and
removing certain discretion of the State's Attorney in
situations of certain alleged motor vehicle violations
by juveniles.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Section 3-810(j )

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:
Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings
3-810.
[(j) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, if
IF the complaint alleges the commission of THAT A MINOR 16
YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER HAS COMMITTED an act in violation of
any provision of the Maryland Vehicle Law or other traffic
law or ordinance UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF THE JUVENILE
COURT, the complaint shall be filed directly with the
State's attorney of the jurisdiction in which the alleged
violation occurred. If the State's attorney elects to
proceed with the case, he may prepare a petition for filing
with the court of proper jurisdiction.]-
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1979.
